The Playford Restaurant has always been one of my top listed restaurants. Just before I went on holidays, I decided to dine here again. I have forgotten to mention in my last post, this year you no longer need to hang out by your letter box waiting for the special piece of paper, the Festival of Food voucher. There is an app which can be downloaded onto your smart phone and it works just the same. When you arrive at the restaurant hand your device to a friendly staff member and they will enter a code and your stamp is redeemed from that restaurant. A very clever idea.
Astonish Patisserie is no longer just a dessert bar, it has a brunch option. They are now open from 11 am to 2:30 pm, just not on Mondays.
The pork had been cooked for 6 hours and pulled apart, then put inside a home made soft brioche bun, together with coleslaw and smokey BBQ sauce. What can I say?
Mövenpick is a dessert chain that has a lot of stores around Australia, it was first created from the finest restaurants in Switzerland. I remembered going to the one in Melbourne last time and I had wished that we had one in Adelaide. Yes my dream has come true.
I have finally had time to visit Koko Black in the Adelaide Arcade. This time we were invited to sample their Summer Oasis menu. We went upstairs and Brianna kindly introduced us to the Summer Oasis menu. She mentioned three items that stood out from the menu so we thought we'll try her recommendations.
There are many coffee/ dessert places emerging in Adelaide, and this one was no exception. The cafe is located on Hutt Street, with limited seating we sat at a table near the back. We were admiring at all the decor around the cafe, I loved the wall paper.
Amazing French Patisserie in Adelaide!!
Who says you have to go to a five star restaurant to have food from an accomplished chef who worked at the Hilton, Stamford or even with Neil Perry at Sydney's famous Rockpool bar and Grill as a sous chef? If you steer away from the big chain dessert places and turn slightly down King William Road, you will find this Astonish Patisserie owned by Amber.
The home of Poffertjes in Adelaide!!
I can't believe I have missed this cafe, even though I go down to Henley Beach Road quite often. I have heard about this cafe through word of mouth, and decided to go there today. This cafe is tucked away in between shops, but there is a sign at the front, so it's not hard to find at all.
It was pouring with rain, the thunder and lightning just made us want to go in and have something to warm our tummies.
Churros were bland!
Finally, San Churro has arrived in Adelaide, I have seen it in Sydney, Melbourne and wondered when Adelaide will have it's store. The cafe is in a super location, right on the corner of East Terrace and the busy Rundle Street, full of restaurants and cafes. However, I was a little disappointed. The set up inside was pretty ordinary, there were plenty of tables and chairs outside. It was very noisy, seemed like it was the new hang out place.
Coffee was pretty amazing
This is the place to be on a cold night, it is a nice and cosy place with a few tables and chairs. It is only a small shop located on Unley Road, very easy to miss.
A must try
I like this cos you can't get anything like this here. I commend them for bringing something new and classy to Adelaide. You can't miss this place as it is located on the top end of O'connell Street, near Piccadily cinemas, right in the middle of a busy street. The ambience was confusing, it was part dessert bar, part cocktail bar, then there was a separate area near the back with fancy curtains, perhaps if you wanted something romantic or a private function.
