Whether you want a coffee, or a breakfast, lunch or dinner. Ballaboosta just off Hutt Street will have you covered. Apparently Ballaboosta refers to a woman who holds her family with love, laughter, discipline and delicious food.
There is a great range of items on the menu for offer, ranging from breakfasts to lighter lunches, mediterranean salads, soups, to tapas and pizzas. Speaking of which, there is brick / wood oven where most of the meals are cooked. Imagine the amazing food coming out of the oven. The high temperatures and wood imparts a certain flavour to the meals that you just can't get in a normal oven, stove or microwave. A more traditional way of cooking.
We arrived here for breakfast. They were actually quite busy so I advise making a booking. We sat near the oven and saw how the chef prepared food. It was fresh, and simple.
Everything just came straight out of the oven, and promptly served. The pita bread was puffed and almost took up half the plate. It was served with the baked eggs and omelette. The egg omelette was made in a skillet in the wood oven. Very impressive. I have never seen this before.
We also wanted to try the flat bread with spiced sausages and the ham, almost like pizzas. The ingredients were fresh and the flat bread was amazingly thin and crunchy. I can eat these any day.
The staff were all so friendly, and that is why we keep coming back. The quality to price ratio is very high.
Highly recommended, Five Daisies!!!!!!
