If you are heading into town and you want some quick and cheap Japanese food, then Katsumoto is for you. This little restaurant is located in Gays Arcade within the Regent Arcade. Katsumoto offers quick snacks like potato korrake to rice and noodle bowls in sets. This means they are served with a side salad with rice and a bowl of miso soup.
We opted for a Tonkatsu set. Pork cutlets coated with bread crumbs and deeply fried, dipped into tonkatsu sauce, more like a worcestershire sauce. This was served with salad, pickles and mustard. Yum!
The udon on the other hand looked amazing, except the broth was a little bland for my liking. I would have liked more ingredients in this bowl for completion.
Katsumoto is located in a quiet place, plenty of seating inside or outside if you want to admire the beautiful old building. It is well priced and perfect for a tonkatsu fix.
