Local Grind is located underneath The Watson Apartments in Walkerville. There are plenty of signs from the main road and you certainly won't miss it the moment you turn into Warwick Street. The cafe not only attracts the tourist or locals whom stay at the apartments, but because it is so close to Linear Park, you can easily ride and drop in for a coffee or two. I love it. There is plenty of seating inside and out. I loved the decorations, the open area with modern interiors. I also love the way they offer local SA produce for sale at the counter. It ranges from olive oils, to pasta and jam.
I couldn't say no to a freshly squeezed orange juice nor an amazing cappuccino.
The scrambled eggs were fluffy, and the two pieces of sour dough were slightly toasted. They were light, but still had the tangy flavour.
My favourite was the baked eggs. It looked amazing, the colours were vibrant which meant veges! It consisted of capsicum, red onion, kale, white beans. Underneath the gold was ham, chunks of it too! The two eggs were cracked on top and done right. The whites were set but the yolks were still runny and this was served straight away!
Local Grind is a hidden gem in Walkerville, not quite hidden but if you look for The Watson apartment, you will find it. The menu showcases a range of SA local produce, friendly service and the price is right. This cafe gave me a wonderful dining experience in a local, tranquil environment. I am sure I will be back very soon to try more from their menu.
