I must say I drove past Sorelle Restaurant plenty of times and it was only recently that I decided to dine there. Sorelle has won plenty of awards for its authentic Italian food. The restaurant is quite big, in fact big enough to hold functions.
For entree we had Schiacciata, flat bread with rosemary sprinkled with sea salt and a dash of olive oil. Yum, an excellent way to open up our appetites.
I love a good risotto, and have tried numerous times making it myself. It is always not as good as in the restaurants. Big chunky pieces of chicken with pancetta, mushrooms, onion, garlic, basil, baby spinach cooked with porcini mushrooms in chicken broth. The whole dish was just so tasty.
One of the signature dishes was the Tre Sorelle. It consisted of tagliatelle with ocean bug tails sautéed in herbs, peppercorn, horseradish, cherry tomatoes, spring onion. I loved the way that the chef put the empty bug tails shell back on the plate. That way I didn't need to get my fingers dirty. The sauce was not too creamy. It had a hint of chilli which was just right. I could eat this pasta any day.
The pizza was pretty good too, for a 12 inch pizza the amount of ingredients on the pizza was just right. Fresh tomato, prawns, calamari, mussels, anchovies and last but not least the cheese. The crust was nice and thin and overall the pizza was gourmet and delicious. I did think the price of this pizza was on the expensive side but you do get great ingredients.
The food was that good that we went back to eat within a matter of a few days. The food there was simple but had amazing flavours. I think I have to add this restaurant to my favourite Italian food list.
