Hahndorf is not far from the city, in fact it only takes you 20 minutes up the highway. There are plenty of German hotels but my favourite is still The Hahndorf Inn. More than 150 years history and it is still standing, with the extension next door. This is where I can get my protein fix. Upon entering, the decor and the atmosphere will make you feel like you have entered into Germany. We settled in for 'Taste of Germany' which was a feast for two, well or three depending on how hungry you are. It consisted of a selection of sausages, Vienna, Bockwurst, Bratwurst, Cheese Kransky, Smoked Kassler chop, Einsbein pork knuckle with mashed potato. Sauerkraut, pork jus, mustard, also with fresh baked pretzels. Delicious!!!
If you love your sausages like me, then why not order a wurst plate so you can try a few of the different ones to share?
The food and drinks arrived in no time despite the number of patrons. There are plenty of seats inside and outside, but if you decide to go, make sure you make a booking as they are quite busy especially on the weekends. Trust me, you won't leave The Hahndorf Inn hungry!!
