Samui Thai is located in the eastern side of the city, in the beautiful suburb of Hazelwood Park. It is very close to a round about, therefore I suggest parking down the side street. Not to worry, there are plenty of parking spaces. Samui Thai restaurant offers authentic, top quality Thai food with excellent service. I do recommend a booking because spaces are limited and they do get quite busy.
We started off with a few entrees. Look at these gorgeous golden looking dumplings... they are called money bags, filled with minced pork. An excellent entree to begin with.
Entree delight is always good to have, you get a mixture of fish cakes, pandan chicken and crispy spring rolls. An excellent way to open up your appetites.
This green papaya salad is a must order if you like spicy food. A lot of great flavours with some heat.
Yes I do love my duck, so this duck curry was a must order. Juicy duck breast fillets cooked in a spicy red curry with cherry tomatoes, pineapple, lychee and fresh basil. Best served with a combination of jasmine rice.
The highlight for the night was the tamarind duck. Imagine crispy battered boneless breast fillet drizzled with caramelised tamarind sauce, crisp shallots on some pak choy. The duck meat was tender and the sauce really turned this dish into something special.
Samui Thai is a hidden gem, with a lot of subtle flavours. It is definitely my favourite Thai restaurant to date.
