Melbourne is full of quirky eating places, it's great. At least it's something different. Dip In Cafe is tucked away down a side street. A narrow entrance brought us underground to a cafe full of art work. It made the whole place colourful and cheerful.
We must have missed the morning rush and got there just before the lunch hour. I hear that this place gets very busy.
Dip In cafe offers a taste of everything, from freshly squeezed fruit juices to healthy muesli bowls to breakfasts served in cob rolls.
What got me interested was the breakfasts served in bread roll. The concept is pretty easy, you pick whatever you like, then choose your type of bread roll, then everything will be put inside of the bread roll. In addition you can add in their famous dips which are made in house. The extensive list of dips are made from local ingredients and contain no preservatives. They even have the dips for sale if you would prefer to enjoy them at home.
Eggs were cooked to our liking. Scrambled eggs were light and fluffy. I also tried the bagel selection, bagel was baked to order. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable.
It is a great place to catch up with friends over a coffee or two, and to try their dip in breakfasts.
