There are often many choices to choose from when you enter a food court. Kopi & Kitchen stood out from the rest in the City Cross Arcade food court. May be because of the decor and the private seating area. It is not very big, so when it gets busy, you would probably have to order the food and drinks then sit down at the general food court area.
Kopi & Kitchen offers the typical Singaporean and Malaysian food/ drinks. When you like their facebook page, you immediately get offered a drink. That is pretty good incentive, especially on a hot summer's day.
We ordered a few different plates to share. Beef Rendang was tender and we could taste the coconut flavours in the rice. Nasi Lemak looked very promising, it was presented nicely. There were definitely a lot of elements on this plate. Pickled carrot, cabbage and cucumber together with chilli sambal, fried anchovies and roasted peanuts , half a boiled egg. There were a lot of spices used in the making of this.
I would have liked to try the Katong Laksa, but unfortunately they ran out. I opted for the curry chicken with rice and also Roti as well. For some reason in my bowl of curry chicken, there were only a couple of pieces of chicken, one piece of potato and curry was way too watery for my liking. The roti on the other hand was very nice.
The service was friendly at Kopi & Kitchen, I have been to Singapore and Malaysia before, so therefore I can truly compare this to ones that I have had over there. It is nice to have variety in the food court and the prices are acceptable, but authentic? I am not sure, I will let you decide.
