Café Sweethearts caught our eyes as we were walking down Coventry Street in South Melbourne. It was quite packed and it was a little warm to sit outside, so the boss pulled two tables together for us to sit inside.
The service was prompt and very friendly. The menu offers a diverse range of breakfast and brunch options. I didn't know there were so many ways to eat eggs for breakfasts. It was eggs, eggs and more eggs.
Orange juice was freshly squeezed to quench our thirst. We tried the eggs Italiano and eggs mediterranean. Both had a Neapolitan sauce as the base, and ingredients were slightly different. Mediterranean was slightly hotter in taste, most likely due to the peppers. The Italiano eggs had a rich tomato sauce over a couple of poached eggs on a muffin.
My favourite was the ricotta pancakes, it looked amazing. It was exquisite and fork licking good. I couldn't fault this breakfast.
We had lovely breakfasts in a nice and comfy cafe in a pleasant environment. Extensive menu in a tranquil environment so what more could you ask for?
