There are not many of these cafes around in Adelaide anymore. Everyone is into the modern, done up, rusty decor, trendy cafes. I discovered this cafe on my way up to cherry picking in the hills. The name pretty much sums it up. It is a country looking cafe located on Magill Road. Don't expect fancy breakfasts here. It has the home country style breakfast. Sometimes it is just nice to have some home style food.
Upon entering the cafe, we saw many pictures and decorations. Some were even for sale. It looked like we entered into someone else's kitchen - Jill's Kitchen.
What was very funny was that when we ordered a piccolo, the girl brought out a bottle of Yellowglen champagne. She must have thought we wanted a sparkling piccolo. I just assumed when you order coffee, by saying piccolo, it automatically means latte. Obviously not this time, the girl even repeated our order. It was quite amusing.
I love my scones, and this one was absolutely amazing. Imagine a warm scone smeared with jam and dolloped with cream? I can so have one right now.
Sometimes a nice and simple breakfast is the best - try the hazelnut and cranberry muesli with raspberry couli.
Baked eggs with piping hot filling of bacon and beans served with crunchy toasts. Now that is deliciousness in a hot pot!
If you are into breakfasts in a tranquil environment, away from the madding crowds, Jill's Country Kitchen is the place to go.
