Red Ochre - Festival of Food Adelaide 2015

We are back to one of our favourite restaurants again - Red Orche Grill.  Excellent food and great service and world class dining.  We seem to be seated at the same table everytime.  I am not complaining, as we have a view to the River Torrens.  To begin with the entree is separated into three different dishes, and one of them has always been a soup.  This time is no exception, it was a hot tomato soup with crab meat and garnished with cucumber on top.  A very delicious soup indeed.  Miso and tuna are a very good combination and it works well.  My favourite was the terrine wrapped with prosciutto.

I have eaten kangaroo fillet at a lot of restaurants but there is not one that serves the fillet as good as Red Orche.  That was a must order item on the menu.  Just imagine, medium rare, succulent meat with little fat served on a plate with drunken pear in a sweet cardamom sauce.  Simply match made in heaven!

Apart from the kangaroo fillet, the beef fillet was also cooked to perfection.  It was served with cherry tomatoes and mushrooms and drizzled with a pepperberry jus.  A very mouth watering dish.

Complimentary dessert was served, I didn't realise a chia pudding can be so tasty.  A very pretty looking dessert so I didn't need to feel guilty after eating this healthy dessert.

If you think one dessert is not enough, why not order a sweet taste plate to share?  It consisted of  Davidson plum sorbet with mixed berry compote, a rich chocolate torte with candied sunrise lime, a wattleseed pavlova, lemon myrtle pannacotta with rosella flower jelly.

All I can say is that.. it was marvellous!  For the price, ambience, service and quality of food,  it is fine dining in a lovely establishment at a very affordable price.
