This restaurant is located on the first level of the Stamford Plaza Hotel on North Terrace. It is Japanese with a hint of French influence. There are two seating areas; one where you have to remove your shoes to enter; It is separated by shoji screens and the other has a view overlooking Parliament house, the Casino and North Terrace. We were brought to our table next to the window.
Now not having drank a lot of sake before, I had no idea which sake to pick. The friendly staff member kindly explained each one to us, she definitely knew her varieties.
The waitress also recommended that we order the edamame beans to munch on whilst we sipped on our sake. The beans were warm, soft and very edible.
We decided to order a sashimi and sushi boat to share, that way we would be trying a little of everything on the sushi menu. Wow... what can I say? It looked amazing, every sushi was arranged neatly. There was a mixture of sashimi - tuna, kingfish, salmon. A few of the nigiri sushi - scallop, octopus, prawn, squid, tuna, kingfish, salmon. Salmon avocado and Californian hand rolls at the front of the boat. It was fresh, it was delicious. The best sushi boat I have had in Adelaide, it is a little dearer than other Japanese restaurants, but I thought it was well worth the money.
This time I only had room to have the sushi menu, I wouldn't mind going back to have more from their other selections which showcase the distinctive French and Japanese flavours.
