Yes summer is just around the corner and The Havelock have had a refurbishment. The balcony bar has been transformed into a tropical garden. Hence the name 'Tropicana', a summer house that is on every Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. We were invited to the launch of the summer club Tropicana menu, all drinks were provided free of charge.
It was a beautiful night for cocktails.
I started off with the watermelon martini which I quite liked, I could taste nothing but watermelon, well minus the vodka.
Raspberry Amaretto Sour was interesting, it was sweet but once stirred around I could taste the sourness.
Sangrias were my favourite. Spring Sangria which is the traditional one was delicious and refreshing. Apple, Mint and cucumber sangria was a tat too sweet.
Sloe one and mojito were also very nice, you could easily have one or two or three.
Watermelon Martini - Vodka, watermelon and lime
Raspberry Amaretto Sour - Amaretto raspberry liquer, lemon and raspberries
Apple, Mint and Cucumber Sangria - sparkling white, apple, mint, cucumber, lime juice and apple juice
Spring Sangria - brandy, chambord, vanilla vodka, cointreau, shiraz, apple juice, orange juice and fruit
Sloe One - gin, chambord, frangelico, raspberry jam and raspberries
Your Mojito - bacardi, sugar syrup, lime juice and mint
There were six cocktails on offer and each costs $12 and Jugs are $20. We thought the price was very decent bearing in mind the location and the atmosphere. It is the new go to place whether it be after work drinks or just to hang out on the balcony on the weekends.
