One of the cafes that we discovered on the way down from hiking the Morialta trail. Elbio's Patisserie & Cafe, as the name suggests, is an American wholesale patisserie and cafe. There is a factory at the back where they produce specialty cakes and party food to over 300 restaurants across Adelaide and Melbourne.
There were many people walking in and out of the cafe while we were dining there. People came and purchased cakes and sweets for takeaway.
Vegetarian delight was smashed avocado with lime, together with rocket and poached egg on some ciabatta bread. Elbio omelette was folded into a half moon shape and consisted of ham, tomato, baby spinach, mushrooms and goats cheese. They were simple and brilliant breakfasts.
This was a simple big breakfast, mushrooms, chorizo sausage, tomato and fried eggs on toast. Strangely enough I got to have three eggs, two into one. There was hardly any oil in the breakfasts which was great.
After breakfast, why not try out some of Elbio's specialty cakes that are on display? We had the apple danish and macaroon tart. They were delicious.
