Beach Road Wines

Settlement wines - one of my favourite wineries no longer exists.  In fact it is now called Beach Road Wines.  Apart from the name change, the people, the wines, everything else seemed just as familiar.  The setting was the same, although the food menu has changed slightly.

I think I have found a new white wine to add to my favourite wine list, Fiano.  It was so easy to drink, certainly went well with all the food I ordered.

I love my olives with wine.  These olives were well marinated and they were warm.  They came in different sizes and all were very tasty.  For $5, the pot of olives was definitely worth the money.  Next was the wood oven pizza that I'd been waiting for, and they were even better than before.  Thin crust, crispy dough, minimal cheese and fresh toppings sprinkled on top.  My favourite pizza was the prosciutto which consisted of tomato, mozzarella, fresh prosciutto, rocket, parmigiano and chilli.

Next was the pumpkin with pesto, caramelised onion, rocket, gorgonzola.  The ingredients were so fresh on both pizzas. The sizes were definitely bigger than that of Settlement Wines and the dough was crispy.  The owner tells me that every morning he has to get up at 7:30am to set up the wood oven to get up to temperature by lunch time.

It was a great way to spend an afternoon.  I enjoyed the nice scenery with some amazing wines and delicious gourmet pizzas!  I will be back soon.
