The decor caught my eyes as I was driving down Unley Road. I could even see the dome from outside, yes it is a wood oven. As soon as I stepped into the restaurant, I could see the shiny wood oven, the chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. We were offered a seat at the booth. I wouldn't call it busy on a Sunday night, there were at least three or four staff on the floor. However it was ages before anyone came to take our order. The service throughout the night was not as attentive as we would have liked. We had to wave everytime to get serviced.
Mixed grill for two was more than enough for three people. It consisted of pork ribs, chorizo sausage, chicken, steak, pork belly and of course black pudding served on a mini grill. Served on the side was some potatoes, they were a little too oily for my liking. The meats were marinated well. There was a bottle of chimichurri sauce to go with the meats, the sauce was different and I wasn't sure if I enjoyed it.
Chargrilled chicken breast was tender, it was topped with ham. Although there was a funny smell to the asparagus, I wasn't sure if it was off or not. Rather than telling the waitress I just left it to the side. The chicken was soaked in a very rich white cream/ thyme sauce.
I think this place has potential, service definitely needs improving.
