Fire and Stone, traditional wood oven pizza. I simply love the name of this restaurant. It is not the first time I have been. Just minutes away from the Adelaide CBD, why not venture out to the eastern suburbs. Fire and Stone is an award winning wood fire pizza restaurant and I could understand why.
There are a few tables and chairs outside, and very limited seating inside. I strongly suggest you make a booking. Not only do they serve food inside the restaurant, they also offer take away. I guarantee you that the phone will be ringing non stop and people will be ordering pizzas, sometimes the wait for the take away pizzas are an hour long. They are that good.
They have lovely Random lights, and comfy sofa seats. Even if you dine with two people, you are still seated at a four persons table. Very roomy. I began my meal with an Italian orange drink, it was very refreshing.
There was an extensive menu, and of course specials for the night too. There were many choices to choose from. Seafood pizza was a must for us, crunchy base and thin crust and succulent. One word to describe, delicious!!
How could I go without pizza with the lot? Fresh olives, pineapples with salami, ham and mushrooms. Another one of my favourites.
Then there was the rack of ribs, marinated in this beautiful sticky sauce. It was all cut up so nice size to hold and eat. I was licking my fingers. There wasn't much meat on these ribs though. The wedges were not oily at all, they were crunchy.
I must say that the service had been exceptional throughout the night. When we informed the waiter that one of us had a food allergy, he told us exactly which pizza had what ingredient. The waiter, or should I say waiters would check on us every now and then to see if everything was ok. Plates were cleared when finished. Ten out of ten.
