What should we eat? How about some Italian food? I have heard that this restaurant had been around for ages, passed on from generations to generations. It must have some old receipes, and authentic traditional Italian food. I was pretty excited. We were seated down very quickly. I thought the food and wine were on the pricer side.
This restaurant has been around for a long time. The waiter was chatting to some of the patrons and he knew exactly what their names were. We were not introduced to the specials when we made our order. We only knew about them subsequently, because one of the younger waiter's told the table behind us. The other issue was that the food came out at random times. We ordered before the table behind us, but their food arrived before ours.
The antipasto plate finally arrived at our table. I didn't understand why people gave this antipasto such high ratings on urbanspoon. It was very ordinary for me. I have never ever seen an antipasto plate which had one anchovy, one olive and also one small ball of mozzarella cheese. It was smaller than the size of a golf ball. It was definitely not a plate for sharing. For $20 I had expected much more.
My Risotto was served on a plate, I would have liked it to be served in a bowl or somehow be given a spoon to have my risotto. Seafood consisted of only cockles, two prawns, one mussel and a few pieces of calamari. There were hardly any risotto on the plate, I supposed it was only an entree size.
This Spaghetti Marinara was a main course size, however it was served on the same size plate as my entree Risotto. Again it was the same four sorts of seafood.
The food here really lacked presentation, for a restaurant that had been opened for years and years, I guess I had expected more.
