An award winning restaurant and one of my favourites is Lenzerheide Restaurant. I have been here several times, and every time I have managed to miss a turn into the restaurant. You can also enter from the side and into the carpark at the back. There are limited spaces at the front right next to the restaurant, however don't worry. There are plenty of parks at the back.
Award winning restaurant!
On all their dishes, there was a choice of matching wines. Again, wines could be ordered by the glass, or if you wanted to be adventurous, you could easily go up near the bar and choose the bottle of your choice from their collection. This time, we chose a bottle of our favourite Zema!
The oysters were to die for! Natural oysters were soaked in chardonnay and topped with salmon roe. The other oysters were lightly crumbed and served with mayonnaise and wasabi tobiko. The oysters just melted in my mouth after taking one bite. Both oysters were delicious.
Duck breast was cooked to perfection, served with fennel, walnuts and sticky orange on the side.
Tortellini was so soft, the knife could easy cut through. They were full of flavours, and I could taste the coriander and walnut salsa. A great entree to open our appetites.
Do allow yourselves a few hours when dining at Lenzerheide, food does arrive slowly. This gave us plenty of time to enjoy what we ordered, especially between courses.
Some of us couldn't decide which steak to have, so decided to order the trio of steak instead. That way we could taste the different ones. First one was a smaller version of the steak olympus, served with a honey and soy sauce. Delicious!! Second sauce Bordelaise and hollandaise sauce with Truss tomato and asparagus, last but not least was the rich cream, brandy with green peppercorns. We ordered potato roti to share between the four of us. A perfect match with the steak and other meals to come. The waitress came around to our table and served us mustards with the steak. The service was very attentive throughout the night.
My favourite steak olympus arrived, served with a prawn on top and surrounded with honey and soy sauce. It was mouth watering just by looking at it, certainly it was as good as it looked. Green beans were wrapped and served on our plate when main courses were served. We also ordered the baby carrots which were covered in apple balsamic glaze.
The duck was amazing, it was literally half a duck on the plate. More than enough for one person. The meat was very tender.
There was alway room for dessert, every time we go. Brandy snap basket was a must, a brandy coated basket holding fresh fruit inside with vanilla ice-cream. It was to die for.
Don't know what gelato to have? No problems, try the trio of gelati. It consisted of raspberry, mango and blood orange. It was just perfect.
One of the specials on the night was the dark chocolate tart, served with pistachios. Again it was delicious, the chocolate blended so well with the pistachios and it was not rich at all.
Last but not least the creme brûlée, the icing sugar on top was not as crisp as I imagined to be, especially when we tapped the spoon on to the sugar. We were still able to hear the crack.
One of the more expensive restaurants, yet has class, and the food of high quality and fantastic presentation. They not only serve dinner, but also lunch and afternoon tea.
The sister restaurant of Alphutte, but its menu diverged many years a go. Many items on the menu are very similar to that of Alphutte. The dishes are a little more expensive, but they are opened on the weekend.
