If you travel down Goodwood road, you must make a visit to this tiny French cafe. In fact it's just off Gilbert Street before the Capri Theatre. With very limited tables and chairs, I advise you to make a booking beforehand to avoid any disappointment. You can choose to sit outside facing the road or inside. As soon as I stepped into this rustic cafe, I thought I was in Paris again. Every sign and picture on the wall reminded me of being in Paris. Even the table had photos covered all over.
Look at the beautiful word Paris on top of my cappuccino. The coffee was pretty amazing.
I know that French breakfasts are usually smaller in size compared to the Australian breakfasts. The bacon and eggs were done in a French style. There were two fried eggs on a piece of toast with cheese kransky and mushrooms in the middle. I loved the way that these were arranged on the plate.
The most simple way to have French breakfast is a croissant and a coffee. The croissant was flaky and pastry melted in my mouth. It was delicious especially when spread with some jam. Bon Appetite!!
My favourite was the french toast or Pain Perdu. The presentation of this dish looked amazing. The outside of the bread was crunchy and inside was soft, smudged with salted buttered caramel sauce and complimented with apple, cinnamon, vanilla bean, mascarpone and walnuts. Yummmmm!!
I have enjoyed my breakfast at L'Atelier Gourmand. The service was great and the food was at a high standard. I wouldn't mind coming back to try something from their lunch or dinner menu.
