Big Table

I love the Adelaide Central Market, it is a place where you can find the freshest produce.  I love fresh fruits, vegetables, bakeries and more important the smell of food from cafes. Located on the Grote Street side was this cafe called 'Big Table'.  The stall is not very big with a few high stools around the stall, and there are other tables and chairs where they are shared between a few cafes.  The menu is right inside the stall on a board high up.  There are always people there, if you are lucky you can sit at the high stool and there you will get a great view of how busy they are.  There are always one person dedicated to make coffee, at least 6 or 7 girls preparing food for either breakfasts or lunch.  Everything is made fresh on the day.  If you are not so lucky, you may have to share with other people on the communal tables and chairs.

This cafe is known for great coffee, they have been great everytime.

Fluffy scrambled eggs!!

One of my favourite breakfasts was the scrambled eggs, they are always nice and fluffy.  That is what scramble eggs should be.  The freshness of the coriander and the spicy chili are a perfect match with the eggs.  I can have this any day.

Next was the french toast.  It was made quite nicely, not too soggy nor oily.   I have never been a big fan of rhubarb, this apple rhubarb took me away.  It was absolutely delightful to eat.

One of the specials on the blackboard was the corn fritters.  It was made in house, bacon was tasty and the avocado was very fresh.

We also had the mushrooms on thick toasts.  It didn't bother us that it was not warm.  The freshness of the pesto and sweetness of the mushroom made it enjoyable to eat.

The servings were all so big for all the breakfasts.  We left with very full tummies.  Big table serves great coffee, provides friendly customer service, the food are awesome and prices are reasonable.  That is why we keep coming back.
