On the day of the supermoon, we decided to go down Hutt Street for something to eat. There are plenty of restaurants on Hutt Street, but not that many pubs. General Havelock is a classy pub around town. Their newly done up bistro section of the pub makes the restaurant more welcoming. Unlike other pubs, there is only one food menu and you can have the restaurant food everywhere around in the pub, whether you are outside, on the balcony, inside the dining or atrium areas.
I have been here for after work drinks, and also a few times for the food. Everytime I have had something different. There is always a huge variety of food and also from the chef's special menu.
The Kangaroo meat was so tender and juicy, there were at least five pieces of meat on the plate. They were all cooked beautifully to my liking, the pumpkin was roasted and they were sweet and tasty. It was a perfect match with the broccolini.
Kangaroo fillet was tantalising!!
One of the chef's special was the moroccan beef. The beef with this moroccan curry was very chunky, making it very easy to eat. The sauce was great to eat with the cous cous.
There's fish on the menu, this time is the barramundi fillet. It was grilled and served with a salad, spinach, cherry tomatoes with lemon dressing. The bottom of the plate was covered with macadamia nuts. The barramundi fillet was once again cooked to perfection. It was full of flavour.
The servings were very generous for every dish, with the price and quality I would come back.
