Melbourne is full of nice breakfast places, but this one I really liked and definitely want to share with you all. It brought back memories from when I was in Paris. Located in South Melbourne down the back of Coventry Street was this lovely Cafe. There was really a Paris feel to it.
As we walked in, you could see the opened kitchen, all the chefs are busy cooking the delicious meals for their customers. On the way to our table, we could smell the freshness of the bakery, the colourful macaroons, my favourite croissants and also the beautiful cakes.
Bonjour! Beautiful french patisserie and delicious breakfasts!
They had my favourite tulips as decorations on the table too!
I loved the ambience in this cafe. Although it was very busy it wasn't noisy at all. All the staff here were very friendly. Coffee arrived at our table very quickly, the smell of coffee was just superb. I enjoyed my cappuccino very much. We tried the poached eggs on croissant. That was simple but simply amazing. Croque madame was next, smoked ham and gruyere cheese grilled sandwich with bechamel sauce with a fried egg. The cheese was very rich, it was more than enough to fill our tummies. Then there was veggie petit dejeuner which was poached eggs on sourdough, potato rosti, sauteed mushrooms, slow roasted tomato, avocado and tomato relish. When the waitress made a mistake and brought us the grand petit which was the meat version of this breakfast, she realised and replaced us with the veggie one very quickly. Everything was so fresh on the veggie plate. A very pleasant experience indeed and definitely worth 5 daisies.
